Project Description
The client was looking for a cool roof solution to reduce heat load. A black EPDM roof was causing temperatures to soar in the summer time. Additionally, the flat roof needed to be watertight so a complete waterproofing and solar reflective coating system was needed.
Coating Solution
SUPER BASE HS @ 10 mils DFT
SUPER THERM @ 10 mils DFT
SP LIQUID MEMBRANE @ 4 mils DFT
Results
Summer time temperatures on the EPDM system went from 156°F (69°C) to 100°F (38°C) a dramatic reduction which was seen in a 25% reduction in AC usage as reported measuring equipment set up by Dhahran Utilities Dept.
